Before exiting the Setup view, you may wish to indicate the tip location for the software. Do this by clicking the mouse at the probe tip location on the cantilever in the video panel. This will ensure that you know where the probe tip is located, even when the focal plane is away from the cantilever.

Click the Check Parameters button in the workflow toolbar to access the Check Parameters view. |
The Check Parameters view allows the user to see at a glance the default parameters for their current experiment setup (also referred to as a 'workspace'). These were loaded when the user first selected their mode of operation in the Select Experiment dialog. These parameters are intended as good starting points for the selected experiment type, but can be modified by the user as required.
Either leave the parameters as-is and continue with your experiment, or change them according to the mode and application that you are attempting. When a parameter is changed from the workspace value it will be highlighted in green. If you want, you can save your changed parameter list as a new workspace (experiment) for future experiments of the same or similar type.
For details about initial parameter settings, refer to the information given for the specific Imaging Modes.
When working in TappingMode, the next step at this point is to tune the cantilever. See Manual Cantilever Tuning for more information.
